Windsurfing, Surfing and Kite Surfing

From the top of the Conor Pass (Irelands highest mountain pass), you can see the whole horseshoe sweep of Brandon Bay facing NW. For a combination of surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, this is one of the best places in Europe. Within the area from Fermoyle to Scraggane Bay in the Maharees, you can experience all types of conditions suitable for everyone from beginners to professionals. Walking, Trekking & Mountain Climbing

From our Cottages in both locations we are surrounded by amazing beach strolls, walks, treks and mountain hikes. From Ventry Beach to Inch Beach, Cosáin na Naomh (the old Saints path) to the Dingle Way, and the ascent of Mount Brandon (Ireland’s second highest mountain) to the descent of Mount Eagle to Slea Head. Ireland’s longest beach (12 miles long) stretches from the tip of the Maharees west to Cloghane village. Mount Brandon, Ireland’s second highest mountain is a short drive from Castlegregory and Glanteenassig and the Slieve Mish Mountains lie just south from the village.

Swimming & Water Sports Adventure

The Maharees offers a Blue Flag Beach and the local waters are crystal clean. With sandy beaches and summer camps for the children, this is the ultimate seaside holiday! While Ventry’s Blue Flag Beach is just a 5 minute walk from our Cottages. This is a beautiful crescent beach with glorious views over Dingle Bay and on to the Iveragh Peninsula.

Horse Riding & Trekking

Just 3 minutes drive from our Ventry Cottages offereing a variety of treks and experiences are available including the wonderful chance to gallop along Ventry Beach! From our Castlegregory Cottages there is a choice of treks along a variety of Beaches in the Maharees and Camp!

Canoeing and Kayaking

Available at Dingle Pier for a splendid experience in Dingle Harbour and Dingle Bay. Should you have your own, Ventry Beach is the icing on the cake!

Shore & Sea Angling

Ventry Beach is a “Hot Spot” for shore anglers and you will encounter anglers both night and day during the angling season. Deep Sea Angling is available from Dingle Pier and will allow you to fish in the crystal waters of Dingle Bay and Atlantic Ocean.
